PeakED Outdoor Activities

One of the most impactful components of the PeakED – Environmental Involvement and Education for Young Entrepreneurs and Volunteers project was the implementation of a series of Outdoor Activities and Youth Camps across Greece, Bulgaria, Jordan, and Poland.

Designed as dynamic and interactive learning experiences, these activities provided participants with the opportunity to step outside traditional educational environments and engage directly with nature, local communities, and real-world sustainability challenges. Each Outdoor Activity was structured as a flexible learning session and integrated into workshops, youth exchanges, and educational events organized throughout the project. Groups of 12-20 participants per day took part in a variety of activities that encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and community involvement.

Participants explored topics such as environmental sustainability, protection of natural and cultural heritage, active citizenship, social entrepreneurship, community engagement, and sustainable development practices.

Connecting People, Communities, and Nature

The Outdoor Activities combined field-based experiences, environmental workshops, collaborative projects, and online learning sessions to create a comprehensive educational journey. Participants had the opportunity to discover local ecosystems, learn about environmental challenges, and explore innovative solutions that contribute to more sustainable communities.

Also, the activities fostered intercultural dialogue and cooperation, bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas, experiences, and perspectives. This international dimension strengthened participants’ understanding of environmental issues and highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing global challenges.

Promoting Environmental Awareness and Active Citizenship

A key objective of the Outdoor Activities was to encourage young people and local communities to become active contributors to environmental protection and sustainable development. Through direct interaction with natural environments and local heritage sites, participants developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of preserving both ecological and cultural resources. The activities empowered participants to take initiative, engage with their communities, and explore ways they can contribute to positive social and environmental change.es.
