AutismCatalyst
AutismCatalyst aims to promote inclusive education and smoother school-to-work transitions for students aged 15–17 with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The project addresses key challenges that can contribute to school disengagement and early dropout, including limited personalised support, social isolation, sensory difficulties, bullying, and insufficient career guidance. Through the development of practical tools, tailored learning approaches, and capacity-building activities, AutismCatalyst equips both mainstream and Special Educational Needs (SEN) teachers with the competences needed to support students’ career development, social-emotional learning, resilience, and active participation in education. By strengthening educators’ capacity and providing personalised, inclusive interventions for students with Level 1 ASD, the project seeks to enhance self-awareness, engagement, and employability while reducing the risk of early school leaving and supporting more successful transitions into further education, training, and employment.
Impact
AutismCatalyst is expected to strengthen inclusive education and career readiness for students with Level 1 ASD, helping them build self-awareness, confidence, resilience and employability skills while remaining actively engaged in education. By equipping mainstream and SEN teachers with practical, autism-informed tools and inclusive methodologies, the project will enhance educators’ capacity to provide personalised learning and career guidance. In the longer term, AutismCatalyst seeks to contribute to reducing early school leaving, supporting smoother transitions to further education and employment, and fostering more inclusive and neurodiversity-friendly school communities.
Our Role
Innovation Hive leads the project’s Dissemination and Outreach activities, including the dissemination strategy, European awareness campaign and digital communication. It also contributes to the development of digital resources, pilot testing and finalisation of project outputs, the post-training reporting process, and the integration of sustainability principles through the project’s Green Strategy. Through these activities, Innovation Hive supports the accessibility, visibility, sustainability and wider transferability of AutismCatalyst results.
