AIESEC is one of the world’s largest voluntary organizations, run and composed entirely of young people aged 18-30. With a presence in more than 120 countries and regions, the organization aims to develop leadership skills through internship, volunteer and membership experience programs. In Greece, AIESEC has a presence in 11 universities, offering students the opportunity to develop their skills and participate in international experiences.
The history of AIESEC in Greece dates back to 1956, with the establishment of the first local office at the Athens University of Economics and Business. Since then, AIESEC has expanded to other universities and has organized numerous student exchanges, leadership conferences and entrepreneurial activities. Through these years, AIESEC has provided over 10,000 young people with cross-cultural experiences and helped develop their leadership skills.
The YouthSpeak Forum is AIESEC Greece’s largest annual event, which aims to inform and raise awareness among young people about the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through speeches, workshops and networking events, young people, companies and organisations come together to discuss and take action towards a more sustainable future.
Innovation Hive, an organization that promotes social innovation, has now become a community partner of AIESEC Greece. The collaboration started with Innovation Hive’s participation in the YouthSpeakForum 2024 on 6 April at the Deree – The American College of Greece venue. There, with relevant projects to the forum’s goals, it offered valuable insights and tools to enhance youth skills and laid the foundation for a strong partnership. The aim of this cooperation is to strengthen AIESEC initiatives and offer new development opportunities for young people.
Through this partnership, AIESEC Greece and Innovation Hive aim to inspire young people to take action and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions to global problems. The exchange of ideas and views between the members of the two organisations creates a dynamic environment that promotes innovation and personal development.
Overall, AIESEC Greece’s partnership with Innovation Hive reinforces the mission of both organizations to cultivate leadership qualities and encourage young people to pursue positive change in society. Together, they continue to create opportunities for youth development and empowerment, promoting peace and the maximum utilization of human potential.
