ALMA
ALMA – European Youth Mobility project is a regional implementation of the EU’s ALMA initiative, targeting young people aged 18 to 29 from the Podkarpackie region of Poland who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET). With a strong emphasis on inclusion, the project supports 465 participants from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those with disabilities, long-term unemployed individuals, migrants, and youth with low educational attainment. Through a tailored approach, each participant undergoes a comprehensive diagnosis to create an individualized learning and development plan (IPUR), which guides them through a series of preparatory activities. These include language training, cultural awareness sessions, psychological and career counseling, all designed to ensure the participants are well-equipped for their upcoming mobility experience abroad.
The core component of the project is a two-month supervised internship in one of four EU countries: Greece, Cyprus, Spain, or Italy. These placements are hosted by partner organizations such as Innovation Hive in Greece, which offers hands-on experience in sectors like agriculture, Industry 4.0, hospitality, and social entrepreneurship. The mobility phase allows participants to gain practical work experience, build self-confidence, and develop both professional and social competencies in a supportive, multicultural environment. Upon return, participants receive continued guidance through follow-up counseling, further training, and job placement support.
Impact
The project is expected to make a significant social and economic impact by enhancing the employability and self-reliance of 465 NEET youth from the Podkarpackie region. Through personalized support, international experience, and continued mentoring, participants will gain valuable skills and qualifications, increasing their chances of securing employment or continuing education. The initiative also aims to reduce youth unemployment and promote social inclusion, particularly for vulnerable groups, contributing to the broader objectives of regional and EU development policies.
Our Role
Innovation Hive is one of the key international partners responsible for organizing and hosting the mobility phase for participants assigned to Greece. The organization provides work placements, accommodation, mentoring, and cultural integration activities. With expertise in education, social innovation, and EU project implementation, Innovation Hive offers internships in sectors such as agriculture, hospitality, social entrepreneurship, and Industry 4.0, ensuring that each participant receives meaningful, practical experience aligned with their development plan.
