CyberPro Train

The CyberPro Train project, funded under the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL), addresses the critical cybersecurity skills shortage in the European Union by developing an innovative, scalable cybersecurity education and training model tailored for professionals in SMEs and public administrations. Responding to the urgent need for a skilled workforce, capable of navigating Europe’s expanding cybersecurity landscape, CyberPro Train aims to bridge the cybersecurity skills gap through specialized training programs that combine theoretical and practical knowledge. This approach is aligned with the objectives of the EU’s Digital Europe Programme and is designed to support EU cybersecurity directives, including the NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act, by preparing a new generation of cybersecurity professionals to protect critical infrastructures and respond effectively to cybersecurity threats. The project’s consortium, comprising experienced cybersecurity and critical infrastructure experts, exploits deep industry knowledge to create comprehensive training pathways that equip participants with the skills necessary for high-demand cybersecurity roles. At the core of CyberPro Train is a multi-faceted training program with synchronous and asynchronous courses, bootcamps, and on-the-job training sessions available in multiple EU languages, aimed at reaching a broad audience across the EU. A key feature is the CyberPro Train Digital Handbook, a one-stop-shop platform that consolidates best practices, guidelines, and cybersecurity resources for SMEs and public administrations. This platform serves as a lasting resource for participants and the wider European community, fostering long-term skill development and cybersecurity awareness. Through this structured, cross-border approach, CyberPro Train contributes significantly to the EU’s digital transformation goals by enhancing cybersecurity education, improving preparedness, and building resilience across sectors.

Impact

The CyberPro Train project bolsters Europe’s cybersecurity by addressing the skills gap through comprehensive training programs, bootcamps, and on-the-job experiences, creating a robust workforce capable of protecting SMEs, start-ups, and public administrations from evolving cyber threats. By promoting career development, inclusivity, and up-to-date practices, it strengthens the EU’s digital ecosystem, enhancing security and competitiveness. Aligned with the European Commission’s Cybersecurity Skills Academy, CyberPro Train promotes standardized, collaborative training across member states, facilitating knowledge sharing and long-term resilience. Resources like its multilingual Digital Handbook ensure sustainable cybersecurity practices, empowering a unified EU workforce to counter emerging threats effectively.

Our Role

Innovation Hive plays a vital role in the CyberPro Train project, contributing as both a beneficiary and coordinator across key activities. One of the first main activities, is the collaboration with National Coordination Centers (NCCs) to map cybersecurity needs for SMEs and public administration, facilitating their involvement in training initiatives. As coordinator, Innovation Hive leads the planning and implementation of synchronous courses, bootcamps, and on-the-job training in a national level, ensuring practical and impactful learning experiences. Additionally, we oversee the creation of the Digital Handbook, as a one-stop-shop platform hosting the project’s milestones, and drives dissemination and communication efforts, creating synergies with existing programs to maximize the project’s reach and impact.
