Innovation Hive Supports the Initiative “Give, Reuse, Restart”

In December 2024, Innovation Hive proudly supported the initiative “Give, Reuse, Restart” organised by the social enterprise EPANEKKINISIS. Our offices in Larissa became a collection point for old computers, inviting citizens and local organisations to bring devices they no longer use.

The initial plan was for the action to last one week, from December 9 to 13. However, the community’s response was overwhelming. Thanks to the strong participation and interest, the initiative was extended until February 21, 2025. This extension allowed even more people to contribute and give their unused computers a new purpose.

The idea behind this action is simple but powerful: give old devices a second chance. Instead of ending up as electronic waste, the devices collected are now being repaired by EPANEKKINISIS’ team of experts. Once ready, they will be donated to people and communities in need, such as Parents’ Association of the Special Primary School & Special Kindergarten of Larissa.

This initiative clearly shows how circular economy principles can be put into practice. Every reused computer reduces environmental impact by saving around 40 kilograms of CO₂ emissions. At the same time, it brings social value by offering access to digital tools for people who might not otherwise have the opportunity. In today’s world, technology is a necessity for education, employment, and social participation.

For Innovation Hive, supporting such initiatives is a natural step. We believe sustainability is not only about protecting the planet, but also about building stronger, more inclusive communities. Partnering with organisations like EPANEKKINISIS proves how innovation and social responsibility can go hand in hand.

The “Give, Reuse, Restart” initiative is a reminder that meaningful change often begins locally, with small actions that grow into significant impact. We are proud to have been part of this effort and look forward to supporting similar initiatives in the future.
