Successful Completion of PLOUTOS WP5: “Practice Business” Acceleration Programme

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of WP5 of the AMIF PLOUTOS project: “Practice Business Acceleration Programme: Cooperation for Achieving Third Country Nationals’ Financial Independence through Financial Literacy Tools and Entrepreneurship Bootcamps”. This milestone reflects our commitment to empowering Third Country Nationals (TCNs) by equipping them with vital business and entrepreneurship skills. Our participants in the Greek pilot programme came from Ukraine, Albania and North Africa.

The Practice Business Acceleration Programme was designed to address the specific needs of TCNs. To maintain participant engagement and reduce the risk of dropout, we adapted the duration of the programme while retaining its core theoretical and practical components. As a result, the programme was delivered over 210 hours, 50 days and 17 weeks. The programme followed the developed Practice Business methodology, which provided a structured and logical sequence for each stage of the training.

Participants took on key business roles throughout the three stages of the programme, rotating between CEO & Financial Manager, Marketing Manager and Logistics Manager, spending over 60 hours in each role. This hands-on experience allowed the five TCNs to immerse themselves in different aspects of business management. These roles were simulated within the PLOUTOS Practice Business Virtual Environment (PBVE) and complemented by the PLOUTOS Microfinance Platform (MP), allowing participants to engage in real-time business operations.

In the first phase of the course, participants worked together to develop their business idea. As a result of their collaboration, the participants created their own practice business: a mini-market called “Gonia tou Kosmou” in Larissa, Greece. This market offers Bio and traditional products from their home countries, bringing a diverse cultural experience to the local community.

In the second phase, the focus shifted to the administrative and financial set-up of their business. The TCNs overcame these challenges with great success, learning key skills such as managing logistics and understanding customer service and branding strategies.

In the final phase, participants focused on promoting their business and building a strong brand identity.

As well as equipping the TCNs with business skills, the programme also developed their teamwork, communication, planning and time management skills – all of which are crucial to enhancing their employability and ensuring their long-term success.
