Youth Speak Forum and Take pART!

Workshop – Through Another’s Eyes: Perspectives in Inequality

The interactive workshop “Through Another’s Eyes: Perspectives in Inequality ” with 100 participants took place in the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 Take pART! project, which focuses on youth empowerment and the promotion of gender equality through the integration of art, psychology and activism in non-formal education.

With Sustainable Development Goal 10 (SDG 10) – Reduce Inequalities as its central focus , the workshop aimed at cultivating empathy, raising awareness around issues of social inequalities and highlighting Artivism (Art + Activism) as a tool for social change.

Participants had the opportunity to:

  • Explore personal and collective experiences of prejudice and inequality,
  • Engage in empathy exercises such as “Step into their shoes” ,
  • Participate in the creation of the “Wall of Voices”, a collective canvas of expression,
  • Get to know the Take pART! digital platform Digital Map, where they can share their own stories through art.

In detail, the workshop included:

  • Presentation of Innovation Hive and its work in the field of social inclusion and innovation.
  • Icebreaker activity (“Stand up if…”) to cultivate empathy and share experiences related to prejudice and discrimination.
  • Journaling activity “Step into their shoes”, where participants stepped into the shoes of a person from a photo and wrote their own story, enhancing their understanding and perspective of the “other”.
  • Presentation of SDG 10 and its connection to the concepts of equality, combating prejudice and social inequalities.
  • Introduction to the concept of Artivism (Art + Activism) and presentation of examples such as the “50 State Initiative” and the European project Take Part!
  • “The Wall of Voices ” – Collective action where participants shared thoughts and phrases inspired by the workshop, creating a “wall of voices”.

What Innovation Hive gained from its participation

Innovation Hive ‘s participation in the workshop was an excellent opportunity to showcase the organisation’s methodology and social approach, strengthening its connection with the young audience. At the end of the workshop, a networking event was held , attended by both workshop participants and other Youth Speak Forum participants.
