PeakED Project Results

The European project PeakED has completed a series of impactful activities and delivered important results that strengthened environmental awareness, promoted cultural heritage preservation, and encouraged sustainable community engagement.

Bringing together partners from different countries and cultural backgrounds, PeakED focused on empowering young people and local communities through outdoor education, intercultural collaboration, and innovative learning approaches connected to mountain ecosystems and sustainable development.

The PeakED Living Lab in Jordan

One of the project’s most remarkable achievements was the implementation of the PeakED Living Lab in Jordan. The Living Lab created an interactive environment where participants, local stakeholders, educators, and young people collaborated on sustainability-related initiatives and practical environmental solutions.

The Living Lab served as a space for experimentation, dialogue, and knowledge exchange, encouraging participants to explore innovative practices connected to environmental protection, sustainable tourism, and cultural heritage preservation. Through participatory activities and community involvement, the initiative strengthened local engagement and fostered long-term awareness regarding the importance of protecting natural and cultural resources.

Outdoor Activities Across Europe

PeakED also organized a wide range of Outdoor Activities in Greece, Bulgaria, and Poland, offering participants experiential learning opportunities in natural environments and mountain regions.

These activities combined environmental education with physical engagement and intercultural exchange. Participants explored local ecosystems, learned about biodiversity and sustainable practices, and developed a stronger connection with nature and cultural heritage.

Innovative Educational Roadmaps

Another important project result was the development of innovative educational roadmaps designed to support educators, youth workers, and organizations in implementing sustainability-focused learning activities.

These roadmaps provided practical methodologies, tools, and educational approaches that combine outdoor learning, environmental education, and community participation. The educational materials were designed to be accessible, adaptable, and applicable in different cultural and educational contexts, ensuring long-term impact beyond the project duration.

The roadmaps contribute to strengthening non-formal education practices while supporting the development of green skills, environmental consciousness, and civic engagement among young people.

Research Studies on Environmental Sustainability and Mountain Protection

PeakED further contributed to the academic and practical understanding of sustainability through the development of research studies focused on environmental sustainability and mountain area protection.

The studies examined current environmental challenges affecting mountain ecosystems and highlighted the importance of sustainable community practices, responsible tourism, and local participation in environmental preservation efforts.

The research outcomes provide valuable insights for policymakers, educators, organizations, and local communities seeking to implement sustainable strategies and promote environmental resilience in mountain regions.

Empowering Communities Through Sustainability and Cultural Heritage

At the heart of PeakED was the commitment to empowering individuals and communities to become active ambassadors for sustainability and cultural heritage protection.

Through intercultural dialogue, outdoor learning experiences, and community-based initiatives, the project successfully strengthened cooperation among participants from different countries while promoting shared European values related to environmental responsibility, inclusion, and cultural diversity.

PeakED demonstrated how education, collaboration, and active participation can inspire meaningful change and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
