Completion of WP4 “Inclusive Local Networks and Local Actions”

As part of the Buddy Migrants project, a significant achievement has been the establishment of Local Networks in Belgium, Greece, Slovenia, Austria, and Cyprus. These networks bring together EU and Third-Country National (TCN) parents in two schools from each region, creating safe spaces for cultural exchange and mutual learning.

The local networks meet regularly to foster connections and address shared challenges. Through these gatherings, participants have organized over 20 Local Action across Europe, cultivating an environment where concerns can be shared, experiences exchanged, and friendships formed.

Highlights of Local Activities:

  • Workshops in Cyprus: Facilitating open dialogue and hands-on learning.
  • Storytelling Sessions in Greece: Sharing personal stories to promote empathy and understanding.
  • Training Sessions in Belgium: Equipping participants with tools for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Discussion Groups in Austria: Encouraging meaningful conversations on cultural integration.

Cooking Classes in Slovenia: Using food as a medium to celebrate and share diverse cultures.

These activities have provided invaluable opportunities to promote empathy, cultural appreciation, and mutual respect.

To ensure the sustainability and wider impact of these initiatives, the local networks will upload materials, photos, and information from their actions to our eLearning platform.  This online space will serve as a repository of good practices, inspiring other educators and communities to replicate these successful models of intercultural collaboration.
