The organization Innovation Hive, one of the six partners of the European Project Stop Racism under the ERASMUS+ framework, successfully organized and implemented an educational event aimed at promoting tolerance, respect for diversity, and non-discrimination among young people, as well as raising their awareness of the dangers of racism and prejudice.
The educational event took place on May 19, 2025, at the University of Thessaly in Larissa. It was held within the Department of Business Administration and was attended by more than 40 undergraduate students.
The event aimed to present the project and raise awareness among young people about the dangers of racism and prejudice—issues that are increasingly at the center of political and social concerns both in Greece and across Europe.
Modern forms of racism and racial discrimination are complex and alarming. Recent studies have shown that racial discrimination is widespread throughout Europe. In light of this, improving access to information on racism and suggestions on how to address it appears to be an area in need of significant development. Moreover, young people seek to cultivate an environment of participation, where they can actively and independently implement social change through engaging and participatory activities.
As such, young European citizens are considered key contributors and co-creators of a more united society. This is precisely where the STOP-RACISM project aims to assist by reaching out to youth groups to educate them about the dangers of racism while also equipping them with the necessary skills to support minority groups that have been victims of racism.
The main objective of the STOP-RACISM project is to promote tolerance, respect for diversity, and non-discrimination among young people. The project aims to raise awareness among youth regarding the dangers of racism and prejudice and to encourage them to stand up against discrimination.
The STOP-RACISM project will successfully conclude in May 2025; however, its results will remain available and completely free of charge for the next 3 years. For information on upcoming events, you can follow the Innovation Hive website.
