Navigate in your host country through digital tools

As the Navi-Mig project comes to an end, we had a chance to look back at what we accomplished, the results that were implemented within the framework of the project and the effect that the project has on people and specifically the target group. In brief, during the project, there were five project results to be implemented,

  • PR1 was a mobile application that works as a roadmap for migrants,
  • PR2 was a mentoring program that aimed to help migrants feel included in society by helping them bridge the gap between existing information and individual support that is not met by information,
  • PR3 a digital training program for labour market integration,
  • PR4 a digital inclusion platform in which all the developed material will be hosted,
  • PR5 manual for sustainable project results for people who wish to utilize the developed results.

One of the final steps for the completion of the project is the organization of a multiplier event which would take place after the development of all project results. On the 19th of July in collaboration with the ELBAK. ELBAK S.A. is one of the largest canneries and companies producing fruit standardization, jams and juices in Greece and in the framework of corporate social responsibility and social justice, through equal access to work, the company contacted the county’s shelters in order to offer work to the beneficiaries of the shelters.

The event was held in ELBAK’s premises to access the target group in the environment. In the event, we had the opportunity to present the NAVI-MIG project and explain the outcomes directly to the target group. A presentation was prepared in English so that attendees could better understand and evaluate the project. We also devoted some time to the e-learning platform and the developed training material that is being hosted in it. The inclusion of migrants in the labour market is key to ensuring their effective integration into the host societies and their positive impact on the EU economy and the Navi-mig’s training modules aim to do exactly that. We also took the opportunity to introduce them to the Navi-mig’s mobile app which aims at the smooth integration of newly arrived migrants in their host countries by providing all necessary information for a seamless integration. A video was prepared that demonstrated how to use the app and all the features available. After that, attendees have the time to navigate and familiarize themselves with it in order to get feedback and helpful comments to further improve it.

Lastly, we had a Q&A session at the end of the event to discuss and analyze the outcomes. It was a great opportunity for them to ask questions about the project and the deliverables as well as giving us their true opinions about the results. Participants seem to have only great things to say about the event and project, especially about the mobile app. It made a great impression the fact that partners took the time to create an app that would be actually useful to them and provide them with any information. They were specifically impressed that the app is translated into seven languages and there is the possibility to be translated into more. Moreover, they seemed to appreciate the fact that a manual was created in order for other people and organizations to add more information for other cities as well.
