The FLY-IN Trainer’s Manual: Empowering Youth Workers to Deliver Quality Online Learning to NEETs

Financial literacy is a critical skill for individuals in today’s world, and it is especially important for young women who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET). Financial literacy equips individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to manage their finances effectively, leading to financial stability and independence. However, young NEET women often face significant barriers to financial literacy and inclusion. They may lack access to formal education and financial services, as well as the necessary support to develop their financial literacy skills. As a result, they are more likely to be financially excluded and face greater financial insecurity in their lives.

In these lines the FLY IN project has designed the FLY-IN curriculum, which is set to revolutionize the way youth workers approach online learning. To support the delivery of this innovative curriculum, a FLY-IN Trainer’s Manual has been developed to ensure a quality training outcome for the youth workers who will be delivering it. The manual focuses on online learning and the roles of youth workers in dynamic environments, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to confidently and effectively deliver the new curriculum in order to train young NEET women with a migrant background in Financial Literacy. The manual emphasizes the importance of new environments in the learning process and helps youth workers to recognize the benefits of online learning for marginalized target groups.

One of the key goals of the FLY-IN Trainer’s Manual is to raise awareness of the risks that exist in online environments and equip youth workers with the tools they need to mitigate them. The manual will help youth workers to identify and manage these risks, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people they work with. A group of youth workers has already been trained in the use of the FLY-IN curriculum (IO1 and IO2) to promote and improve financial literacy rates among young NEET women. The training has been designed to help these youth workers understand how to use the new resources in non-traditional learning environments and to help them recognize the benefits of online learning.

It is important to recognize that financial literacy is a continuous process, and young NEET women will need ongoing support to maintain their financial skills. By providing young women with the resources and support they need to develop and maintain their financial literacy, we can help to ensure that they are financially stable and secure in their future. Τhe FLY-IN Trainer’s Manual is an essential resource for youth workers who want to deliver quality online learning experiences. This manual provides the tools and guidance needed to support the delivery of the innovative FLY-IN curriculum, helping youth workers to empower young NEET to reach their full potential.
